Kawasaki Sponsors Heavy Metal Event

Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki is getting more and more active on the British market. After announcing a summer test ride tour across the country, five new special edition models and attractive financing and insurance offers, Kawasaki revealed it will be the headline sponsor of the 2010 Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards.

Aside from being named the sponsor for the awards event, Kawasaki will also be providing a host of machines for display and use during the evening. In addition to this, Kawasaki will be offering a one off Golden Gods-customised Kawasaki VN900 to one lucky winner in the run-up to the awards, which take place on June 14, 2010 at London’s IndigO2.

"Metal Hammer and the Kawasaki experience are both about commitment, passion and sheer excitement so we are delighted to be sponsoring this amazing awards ceremony,"
Michael Johnstone, Sales and Marketing Manager of Kawasaki Motors UK, said in a release.

“I couldn’t think of a cooler, more appropriate brand to become the headline sponsor of the Golden Gods. Kawasaki has always been the brand of choice for the alternative generation whether they’re riding a VN900 Custom or a Ninja superbike. I’m absolutely thrilled to have them as part of the night," added Metal Hammer publisher Chris Ingham.

The event is regarded as the most prestigious awards night in the international rock calendar. The Golden Gods plays host to some of the world’s biggest rock stars, as previous guests and award winners have included Iron Maiden, Marilyn Manson, Slayer, Metallica, Slash, Mötley Crüe and many more.
