Indonesian blog TMC has gotten wind of Kawasaki making preparations for launching a new 250cc motorcycle in the vein of their Ninja 250/300, but this time powered by a single-cylinder engine.
While the new rumored bike is expected to share many of the components of the small Ninja platform, it will not compare to the Ninja in terms of performance.
However, it appears that the House of Akashi is looking for a more economical machine for the Asian markets, so the single could be a good step in this direction. With customers more and more interested in reliability and lower operational costs, the Kawasaki single-bike could stand a chance against similar units from Honda, KTM or Suzuki.
And knowing how competitive this segment of the market is, such an addition to Kawasaki's roster would be a truly valuable one.
