Kawasaki is definitely one of the most performance-oriented bike manufacturers. It basically invented the modern Superbike in 1972, when the 900 Super Four (Z1) was launched, and now set the bar higher for the market with the new Ninja H2R/H2. However, there’s a lot of history before and after this period, which can be seen at Kawasaki’s Good Times World museum that reopened recently.
Good Times World is located in Kobe, Japan, so if you’re going in a trip there, don’t forget to put it on your list. The museum puts Kawasaki’s past and present on display both in real life and on screen. According to the company, there’s a 46-foot curved screen theater that shows Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ land, sea, and air products doing their thing.

There’s also a RidEX Riding Simulator there, which lets you take two laps on virtual circuit while sitting on a Ninja ZX-10R sportbike. While sitting on the bike, your field of view will be overwhelmed by a spherical screen to better give the feeling of actually riding a motorcycle. The simulator can be tested both by adults and children.

Further on, you will be able to see and even sit on some of the company’s best motorcycles, like the KR500 (Kork Ballington model), Ninja ZX-RR (Shinya Nakano model), 125 B8, Avenger (A7), A7RS, H2B, H2R, KZ1000R, KZ1000S, ZXR750 or ZX450F (winner of the 1993 Suzuka 8-hour race).

Apart from motorcycles, the Kawasaki Good Times World will feature four-wheeled vehicles like the MULE PRO-DXT (multifunctional utility vehicle), ski-jets, and even planes.

One of the Japanese company’s most important such product is the Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien (“Flying Swallow”) Type 3 fighter plane, which will be there in flesh and bone.

The Good Times World exhibition opened October 14 at the Kobe Maritime Museum, 2-2 Hatoba-cho, Chu-ku, Kobe, Japan.
