Kawasaki’s new Ninja H2 and H2R machines are slowly reaching far corners of the world and this means we’re in for plenty of videos from the track and from the road. While the streetability of a 210 hp (with ram air) bike remains a rather questionable matter, the truth cannot be denied. If you love really fast sport bikes and can afford getting one of these Ninjas, go get it, because it looks like the ultimate experience.
Lucky Brits at MCN got their hands on an H2 and H2R and had the chance to put in some laps around the Losail desert circuit. Yes, THAT Losail circuit in Doha, Qatar which will host the kick-off round of the 2015 MotoGP championship at the end of this very month. The results are rather disturbing to the common rider, as the top speed of the Ninja H2R was north of 220 mph. And since miles-per-hour may not sound that impressive to the ears of European riders, how about telling you that 220 mph is 354 km/h? Stock trim!

The bike does what its maker says it does

You know the drill: motorcycle journalists are seldom admitting that a bike is actually surpassing their expectations. There will always be something that’s not right, just enough to say that the advertising and the hype around a certain model are exaggerated compared to what the bike actually does.

Well, it seems like this was not the case for MCN’s Adam Child who was literally blown away by the evil power of these bikes. He also published a photo on his twitter account which read a Ninja H2R max speed of 357 km/h (221.9 mph) apparently the top speed Japanese test riders managed to reach at the end of the Losail straight line.

Factor in that the Losail circuit in Qatar has an 1,068m (0.66 miles) straight line, and you will probably begin to understand why Child was so excited after riding the new Ninjas. The Ninja H2/ H2Rmadness is only starting, as more eye-popping data and videos will surely follow, but one thing is sure: the rest of the manufacturers will have a hard time matching these bikes’ performance. And then there’s also the mysterious Kawasaki Ninja R2
