Kate Peck Rides a MotoGP Bike with Mick Doohan [Video Link]

Few lucky guys get a chance to swing a leg over a MotoGP bike and even fewer are those who get the unique opportunity to be a passenger aboard such machines. Mostly this is because MotoGP bikes are damn rare, insanely expensive and are engineered to carry only the rider. Still, when events like the Ride Day at the Phillip Island circuit offer these lucky chaps a chance, it only seems natural that they seize it.

Multiple World Champion Mick Doohan and his Australian fellow Daryl Beattie have been offering rides around the Phillip Island track, and below you can see what a real MotoGP experience looked like for 2014 Australian MotoGP Ambassador, belle model and MTV celebrity Kate Peck.

Kate got in the back of Mick Doohan’s Repsol Honda NSR bike, which was fitted with a pillion seat and tank-mounted grab rails, and the 5-time 500cc champion set all hell loose around the Phillip Island track, reaching speeds north of 260 km/h (161 mph), according to his own estimations. He says that the speedometer went as high as 278 km/h (173 mph) with a passenger, whereas in a real race he would go as fast as 335 km/h (208 mph).

Some would find even these figures scary to death, let alone riding so fast… as a passenger. Still, it looks like the lure of the high-speed thrills helped Kate defeat her fear and enjoy the blazing fast laps around the Island. And to make everything end in style, Doohan’s final brake was a full-out stoppie, much like we get to see these days from Marc Marquez every other weekend. Even though it may be hard to spot the moment, you’ll find a screen capture after the jump.

Chef Adam D’Sylva, ex AFL footballer Campbell Brown and V8 Supercars star Rick Kelly have also been spotted around the Phillip Island complex, motogp.com says.
