At the Shanghai Auto Show back in April, American carmaker Karma presented the GT, a new hybrid model designed with the help of Italian house Pininfarina. The car, meant to be a preview of things to come, is now ready for its first public appearance on U.S. soil.
The Karma GT will be on display at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in California, one of the most prestigious events of its kind, starting August 15. As it targets the luxury customers segment, the company hopes that by showing the car at this event would entice more buyers to go for one of its vehicles.

“Pebble Beach is the definitive luxury automotive event of the year,” said in a statement John Maloney, the company's Chief Revenue Officer.

“For a pioneering challenger like Karma, our presence at Pebble Beach sets the tone for our brand on the global luxury stage.”

There’s no word yet on a production version of the GT, but if the company does decide on such a course of action, the car is probably going to be a hit.

Pininfarina’s magic touch when it comes to design is paired with the same powertrain as the one in the Revero GT. That means a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo engine provided by BMW, a 28-kWh battery, and two electric motors.

In this configuration, the car develops a combined 535 horsepower and 745 Nm of torque. The numbers are high enough to ensure an acceleration time of 4.5 seconds.

The Pininfarina GT will be on-site alongside the Revero GT, making the Karma display one worth visiting.

The production version Revero is scheduled to go on sale this fall, and Karma promises those attending the Pebble Beach event will have a chance to go on test drives in the car. There’s no word yet on the price for the vehicle.
