So you’re moving around town to do some last minute preparations for Christmas Eve when your eyes suddenly stop on an haute couture picture of probably one of the most popular couples in today’s fashion. You can’t give a damn about Kim Kardashian and care even less about her hubby, rapper Kanye West, but there is something about the picture that does catch your attention.
And it's that really sexy black McLaren 12C sitting in the background. Of course it caught your attention, since it’s the first production car wholly designed and built by McLaren since the McLaren F1 hypercar from the 1990s.

And yes, it’s the supercar the McLaren 650S is based on (not completely though, since McLaren’s current model comes with 25 percent new parts). And yes, it became even more special since this April, when the Woking, Surrey-based automaker decided to pull it off the market.

But still, what’s with the famous couple posing next to it? Well, it turns out Kim and ‘Ye are starring in Balmain’s Spring/Summer 2015 menswear campaign. Since we know you probably don’t care about these celebrities, we took the time to dig a bit deeper and found that in fact Kimye (as the two are called) are both longtime fans of the French line.

In fact, the Keep Up With the Kardashians star even wore Balmain this past May at her bachelorette bash in Paris and her wedding reception in Florence.

Now back to the car for a second.

Since Kanye West’s favorite daily driver is a black Lamborghini Aventador and Kim usually is seen with one of the family’s G-Wagons, we’re guessing the car has nothing to do with the models involved in the shooting. Whatever the case, we have to admit that the blacked-out McLaren does add its fare share of beauty to the pictures, making them quite interesting to the eye.
