It is not often that classic pickup truck enthusiasts venture into the unknown with a combination of two custom build styles. But when they do, one can be sure the results will be impressive.
The videographer behind the WhipAddict channel on YouTube has recently traveled to Macon, Georgia because he wanted to catch a glimpse of a cool Short Bed. Born almost four decades ago as a 1985 Chevrolet C10 Silverado, now this pickup truck is nowhere near its early workdays.
Instead, it has turned into a true showpiece, following “a few” interventions. The first one, and arguably the most important – as it secures the base for the rest of the customizations – was the frame-off restoration process. But it did not stay true to the original, which may or may not be everyone’s cup of tea.
Well, the changes are almost done, and now all that remains are small (rose gold) details. Anyway, this truck now sits at the confluence of two modernization styles. One can easily see both traits from truck restomod culture and of the Hi-riser variety. For example, under the hood resides a high-performance 6.2-liter LS3 crate motor that roars away according to the owner’s will through the dual side exhaust.
No worries about the stopping power, as Wilwood is also on point. The custom interior is also up to snuff, so we can start focusing on the Hi-raiser traits. And there is a bunch of them, starting with the Kandy Red paintjob, which is present even inside the engine bay and on the frame. But that’s not all, naturally.
The truck rides squatted on a huge set of 30-inch Rose Gold Forgiato wheels, complete with a matching-style steering wheel in the cabin. There is also a Tiarra radiator grille, as well as additional gold details, such as the mirror housings or the front and rear bumpers! And do not worry about the chrome, as part of the trim will be swapped for even more rose gold...
