Afzal Kahn designed a farewell edition of the Land Rover Defender, which was commissioned by the organizers of the 2016 London Motor Show.
The bespoke model celebrates the life of the Defender, a British icon which has ended its production run this year. While production was limited to the unique example, Kahn hopes Land Rover Defender owners will be interested in a conversion.
Therefore, the tuner is open to modifying Defenders at client request. Customers are welcome to his Kings Road boutique in Chelsea for further inquiries.
Until then, let’s focus on the one-off Defender 90 presented at this year’s London Motor Show. Its price tag was of 65,000 pounds, and it features a modified bodywork. A wealthy fan of the Defender will have the chance to buy it, as the exhibit will be for sale at the event.
The bodyshell has wide fenders, a new front bumper, hood vents, and a Kahn-specific grille. The package is completed by a set of custom-designed 20-inch alloy wheels.
Once inside, you can find a set of custom bucket seats covered in leather stitched in an intricate pattern. The dash features a similar look, while a particular fabric (you can see it in the photo gallery) is present on individual elements of the Defender’s one-off interior.
Passengers can also discover a new clock, while the driver will enjoy a leather-trimmed steering wheel, aluminum pedals, and billet-aluminum shift knob, as well as a modern infotainment unit. The latter has a navigation system and completes the package with a reverse camera.
This Kahn Design creation was different from the rest of Afzal’s work, as it included suggestions from the British public. Using the #UltimateDefender hashtag, lucky fans of the legendary off-road icon got to see the vehicle in advance, but only if their ideas were chosen for the added features.
As usual, Mr. Kahn dedicated his full attention to detail when working on this project, and he invites British fans of the model to see it in person at the London Motor Show. We will complete the photo gallery of this story once additional official pictures become available.
