At 28, Martin Caceres is one of the most successful footballers from Uruguay, so no wonder he drives a Ferrari. Sure, he probably bought it for the regular celebrity show-off just like all the others famed sportsmen do. As a matter of fact, the decision to take the wheel of his supercar after a long night at the club proves how big of a driver he really is.
Unfortunately, his behaviour seems to be taken quite serious by the A-list soccer team he’s playing for, Juventus, which are now considering to disrupt their collaboration.

Throughout his career, the Uruguayan sportsman was in constant evolution, starting out at Defensor, and then moving to Villarreal in 2007 and eventually ending up as a player for the Turin, Piedmont-based Football Club.

The four-year contract Caceres signed back in 2012 is now in danger of being stopped by the club’s leaders, considering how they have already suspended the footballer. Just look at the Juventus’ statement, and you’ll see how bad things are:

“The conduct of Martin Caceres on the night of 28 September represents gross violation of his responsibilities as a Juventus player, as well as damaging the image of the club. Juventus will thus take disciplinary action against the player in the form of a fine and his temporary suspension from the first team.”

But what happened, some may ask. Well, he didn’t just crashed his supercar, as it would appear police have found that he also was driving under the influence of alcohol. According to Italian news agency ANSA, the accident occurred shortly after midnight. Caceres invaded the opposite carriageway in Corso Giambone and crashed into parked cars and then the bus stop shelter, which collapsed as well. Even if nobody was injured, the soccer star did lose his driver’s license.

Moreover, the timing couldn’t have been worse, considering the accident happened two days before Wednesday’s Champions League match against Spanish team Sevilla. Juventus is already missing some important players due to injuries and now will miss another one.
