We here at autoevolution simply love sleepers (no, not this kind) and the reactions people have to them: surpirse and amazement or anger and dismay (after getting ‘smoked’ off the line despite having a supercar). And thus forth, we genuinely appreciate the work that has gone into making this Ford Granada the ultimate sleeper.
The car is a rather bland second gen Ford Granada which has had its sub 160 hp engine and replacing it with what is genuinely the meanest and most powerful European-made V8, and then doubling its power for good measure. The result is the kind of acceleration that would make one’s face concave, only for it to pop back out under braking.
The car doesn’t seem to be fully completed yet, but judging by the years (according to the videos) of work that have gone into it, it’s only a matter of time before the car will finally be ready to show supercars its 80s-style rectangular tail lights. We’re looking forward to an acceleration run as we imagine it’s going to be, there’s no other word for it, epic!
Just the car starting up.
Showing off its engine in public!
A little bit of revving.
