Junior WRC Champion Goes All Gymkhana In Romanian Ford Factory, Drifts Fiesta R5

Ken Block doesn't seem to be ready to give up on his Gymkhana adventures anytime soon and it seems Ford is taking an example from the drift-obsessed stunt figure, with the carmaker now releasing the second incarnation of its in-factory savage hooning adventure.

It all started in June last year, when Ford's Romania arm asked Simone Tempestini, who now holds two national rally championship titles in the country, to thrash a Fiesta R5 rally car inside the gates of the Craiova production site.

With Romania celebrating its national day as you are reading this, the Blue Oval is offering us a new take on the matter. And since the Italian-born driver has went on to capture the Junior WRC title for 2016, his stunts have only gotten wilder.

Frankly, we could describe the whole thing using an infinite series of interjections, but since written car sounds should probably stay in our office, we'll steer clear of this path.

Instead, we'll mention this adventure offers a... three-dimensional approach, which defies what most drivers would call throttle pedal abuse common sense - even drifters usually slow down or even come to a stop when treated with a ramp, but this is not what happens here.

And with the said production site set to supply Europe with the new EcoSport small crossover starting next year, it never hurts to gift the staff with some extra adrenaline before such an effort.

The automaker's Craiova factory in Romania is celebrating 40 years of activity and those of you interested in what kind of contraptions were brought to life there before the Blue Oval acquired the factory back in 2008 will have their knowledge thirst quenched by this video.

Those of you who missed last year's adventure, or simply want to check it out one more time for comparison purposes, can find it in the second clip below.

P. S.: While we're talking Ken Block-inspired matters, it wouldn't hurt to see the otherworldly Climbkhana being replicated on Romania's world-famous Transfagarasan road.
