It’s the sound of the police, whoop-whoop! Come on, that sounds illegal, please, whoop-whoop! These are the best lyrics we could find in the little time we had after we found out that Juan Uribe’s Hummer H1 is getting police-inspired features. Not only do we find this idea more than peculiar, but it made us go back to the traffic regulations book.
A while ago we were reporting about the New York Mets' baseball star Juan Uribe and his passion for big cars that usually come with off-road features. If there’s one model out there that packs the kind of enhancements you need to hit the dirt, then the Hummer is it. After all, we know that this 4WD machine was initially designed strictly for military use, yet due to popular demand later was released to the civilian market.

Hey, we’re not like those eco-conscious people, we’re not going to talk about fuel mileage this time. We get it the Hummer is still quite attractive to any petrolhead out there. After all, even Arnold Schwarzenegger has more than a couple of them in his garage. Sure, the Terminator star transformed a pair of them to run on biofuel, but we understand how the celebrity factor made this car even more accessible.

Getting back to then MLB star in question, it would appear his on-again, off-again professional relationship with the Mets does not keep him from going full gear with his customization game. He is one of the Auto Firm auto shop most faithful customers, and somehow he managed to convince them to enhance his H1 with police features. Before you hit the play button on the clip below, we’d like to remind you how the law sounds like.

A person is guilty of criminal impersonation in the first degree when he: 1. Pretends to be a police officer or a federal law enforcement officer as enumerated in section 2.15 of the criminal procedure law, or wears or displays without authority, any uniform, badge or other insignia or facsimile thereof, by which such police officer or federal law enforcement officer is lawfully distinguished or expresses by his or her words or actions that he or she is acting with the approval or authority of any police department or acting as a federal law enforcement officer with the approval of any agency that employs federal law enforcement officers as enumerated in section 2.15 of the criminal procedure law.”

Is this the case with Juan Uribe’s Hummer H1? You tell us.
