The JPD Customs Star Bolt dirt tracker is one amazing example of how cool can really nice bikes evolve when customizers get carried away.
This bike was built by Jeff Palhegyi and his crew for the Yamaha Bolt Build-Off contest. It did not win, as Greg Hageman took the first prize, but it brought a new light to how the Bolt can change.

While at first all Jeff wanted were some dirt track tires, he started tinkering and messing with the bike's front end, as it seemed way too high. So it came off under the saw and a new front part of the chassis, including the neck was fabricated and received a nifty R6 fork.

The rear of the bike also needed some modding, and the team soon realized there was almost nothing left of the original frame. Howeverm Jeff did not panic. Instead he chose to rebuilt the rear part of the chassis with a custom subframe and dirt bike handmade aluminium side covers.

Jeff also shortened the swingarm and loaded a killer offset rear shock for a more sporty look and mass centralization. Burns dual-can exhaust also came in place, alongside the handmade front number plate and the sweet and racey dual headlight cluster.

So afte hacking, sawing, lowering and shortening the Bolt, all the bike needed was a smaller tank (2 inches shorter) and a vivid, racing livery. Definitely a glorious machine!
