If you're acquainted with the X-Games or Red Bull Fighters action, then watching a motorcycle doing a backflip is nothing short of everyday action. From time to time, double backflips can be seen and the audience goes crazy.
How about taking the ultimate risk and attempting a triple backflip? This sounds indeed very crazy and one of the shortest ways to the ER. Well, not if you're Josh Sheehan and not if you're a part of the Nitro Circus. And if you have Travis Pastrana by your side and his wacky Pastranaland magic kingdom at your disposal, things become really interesting.
Sheehan trained and prepared for more than a year before attempting to nail this stunt. Yesterday was a day that has its own page in the FMX history books, with the name of Josh Sheehan written in bold capital letters.
Honestly, we watched this video for four times already and still can't get enough of it.
One year of preparation for the triple backflip
The triple backflip could not be performed under normal circumstances because of the air time needed to rotate the bike three times and have it in the right landing stance. So a huge ramp had to be built in Pastranaland providing Sheehan with enough lift and allowing him to rotate as intended.Sheehan trained and prepared for more than a year before attempting to nail this stunt.
