Jose Mourinho Drives the Jaguar F-Pace on Ice

Sporting icon Jose Mourinho isn’t a stranger to fast cars and sporty driving. The legend whose name is on every football/soccer fan’s mind was one of the sportsmen chosen by Porsche to launch a Fall/Winter clothing line in 2010. Fast-forward to February 2014 and Jose Mourinho became the first man in the UK to receive an F-Type Coupe.

Then Mourinho became Jaguar’s brand ambassador, after which the man took delivery of the first-ever F-Type R Coupe in the United Kingdom. It’s hard to deny that being Jose Mourinho doesn’t have its perks, more so if you consider that Jaguar sent 53-year-old Jose Mourinho to learn how to drive at full throttle and drift at high speed on a frozen lake in Sweden.

So what if Chelsea lost nine out of sixteen league games in 2015? The football legend is too good to sit at home and think about the better days of his career. Instead of doing that, Mourinho accepted Jaguar’s invitation to put the all-new F-Pace through its paces (no pun intended) in extreme weather conditions.

Cue Jaguar Land Rover’s not so top secret testing facility in Arjeplog, Sweden. At just 40 miles (64 kilometers) from the Arctic Circle, this is as extreme as cold weather can get for ordinary people like you and me. As part of an intense driver training experience, Mourinho got behind the wheel of the supercharged V6-powered Jaguar F-Pace S and tested his driving skills to the limit with the aid of a Finnish pro driver.

“I am always learning,” stated Mourinho. “Even in football, which is an area that obviously I feel that I’m an expert, I’m never perfect and I always learn.” The result of Mourinho’s sub-zero thrashing can be seen in the video after the jump.

The Portuguese football/soccer icon added that he has ”worked for as long as I can remember as a manager and this is now the second time I have stopped in 16 years. So it’s not a drama, but for sure I will be back soon.” Football fans all over the world, I think that ought to be enough reason for us to rejoice.
