It looks like things are becoming clearer as far as the fate of the 2013 World MotoGP Championship is concerned. Jorge Lorenzo is acknowledging the perspective of being the runner-up this year, 3 rounds before the actual end of the season, GP Inside reports.
Marc Marquez has a solid 43 points lead, and pretty much everyone is ready to place wagers he will be the new MotoGP champion. Save for some really bad and purely mathematical scenarios involving him not earning any points and Lorenzo winning, things look pretty much set.

However, Lorenzo mentions the weak brakes of his Yamaha and the lack of rear tire grip which have plagued his riding through the championship. And the fact that he could win races under such conditions, while being left without any options during other rounds is only frustrating, he adds.

Given these conditions, Lorenzo says all he can do is keep on battling, even though he will have to accept defeat this year. Even more, he is acknowledging the facts knowing that he and his team did all they could, so it was a fair battle between Honda's and Yamaha's riders and technicians.

MotoGP action reaches Australia this weekend, for the Phillip Island round.
