Yamaha's three-time MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo is not only one of the most successful motorcycle racers of the moment but also a passionate road racing enthusiast and collector. And because his collection of race-related memorabilia has grown enough to become part of a museum, this is exactly what its owner has in mind.
It may sound a bit weird, but Jorge Lorenzo will open a museum in Andorra, with the exhibits being the very items in his possession. He already found a suitable name for it, the World Champions Collection, and it sounds like there could hardly be another more appropriate name.

The most prized pieces in Lorenzo's collection are helmets and leathers that belonged to World Champions, as well as Formula 1 suits and helmets. Among the most famous names in road racing, Lorenzo's collection can brag about those of Niki Lauda, Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, Barry Sheene, Mick Doohan, Wayne Rainey, Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner, plus many more.

And because simply beholding the memorabilia these great champions wore to the most resounding victories in motorsport is only part of the fun, Jorge Lorenzo's World Champions Collection will be housed in a building that also accommodates an F1 and a MotoGP simulator so that fans and visitors can get a full taste of what these sports feel like.

Attached to the museum there will be a restaurant and a store, making visiting the World Champions Collection an even richer experience. Lorenzo has not announced when this museum will be ready, and only declared that it will "become reality in a few months."

After winning the French GP at Le Mans last Sunday, Lorenzo climbed in the first position of the MotoGP championship, followed closely by Marc Marquez and his Movistar Yamaha teammate Valentino Rossi. After winning three MotoGP titles with Yamaha, Lorenzo will ride for Ducati as of 2017.
