Jorge Lorenzo Accepts Ice Bucket Challenge, Nominates Rossi, Pedrosa, Marquez

After all the stupid online challenges that have been in circulation during the last months, and of which, some have led to dramatic consequences, the Ice Bucket one looks indeed fun. And since it looks like people are really having fun soaking themselves in ice-cold water in the most uncanny scenarios, it was only a matter of time until this reached MotoGP.

We don’t know whether Movistar Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo is the first one to take the challenge, but watching him throw a bucket of ice water on his head was epic. According to his own words, it was his DJ friend Nicky Romero who named him, so it was a question of honor.

Fact is, that one of the most fun parts of all this is the very thought of the looks on the faces of your own nominees when they find out they’re next. The Cobra was not at all shy to name three of his rivals as the next one to take the challenge: Marc Marquez, the 2013 rookie who stole his MotoGP crown, Dani Pedrosa, Marquez’ Repsol Honda team mate and obviously, Valentino the Doctor Rossi, Yamaha’s other rider.

We’ll be closely looking forward to see all of them getting willingly soaked in ice water. Below you can watch both Nicky Romero’s challenge and Lorenzo. Honestly, Romero’s several pints can hardly be called a bucket, while Lorenzo’s way to pass on the silly fun factor was truly manly.

If you take the Ice Bucket challenge, make sure you take minimal precautions, with the thermal shock being one of the biggest dangers. Don’t throw a bucket of ice water on your head and body after you’ve spent time sun bathing or so. Your body temperature is very high, and dousing in ice-cold water can lead to heart attacks or brain-related problems, so make sure you’re safe.
