One or more car thieves must be rubbing hands in excitement right now, sitting behind the wheel of John Travolta’s retro Mercedes 280 SL. The actor’s car was stolen on Sunday afternoon on a residential street in Santa Monica.
Travolta parked his vintage German ride - we are talking about a 1965 230 SL model - in order to pay a short visit to a Jaguar dealership. He returned to the car 10 minutes later only to find it gone.
The police is now investigating the matter (the keys were not in the car), but no details have been offered so far.
As for the value of the car, this is pretty hard to be estimated: it could have a value of $35,000 (EUR25,000), but certain sources claim that it could sell for three times that price thanks to its vintage status.
