John McGuinness needs no introduction: he is a living legend in the world of road racing, having won around the Mountain Course of the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT) on no less than 21 occasions. Last year, as he claimed yet another victory in the event’s top race, the Senior TT, he had been awarded a very rare watch, of which only 10 are in existence, worth of £10,000 ($16,100 or €12,490).

However, sometime between Saturnday night and Monday morning, the watch has been stolen from Mc Guinness’ van’s glove box. The van was parked in Mayfield Drive in McGuinness’ Morecambe residential area.

The rider and the Morecambe Police appealed to anyone who could provide information what would lead to finding the watch, and McGuinness even offered a reward for the safe return of the limited Graham TT Winner limited edition watch. Believe it or not, the watch has been handed to the Police, in circumstances which remain yet unknown to the media.

No arrests have been made, but the police are continuing the investigation of the theft. “I’m very proud of the watch, so I think it’s a lesson learnt - don’t leave it in the glove compartment of your van,” John McGuinness added, according to visordown.

John McGuinness is thought to be one of the very few riders who could reach or break Joey Dunlop’s 26-win record, alongside Joey’s nephew Michael Dunlop.
