When talking about family racing tradition, we can’t help but think about four-time Indy 500 winner Al Unser, whose sons, Al Jr and Bobby, have also won America’s famed 500-mile race.
But we can’t forget John Force, the man who has 16 NHRA Funny Car championships to his name and 138 career wins. He’s one of the very few drivers out there that got to race against his offspring. Last year he won the NHRA Championship by defeating daughter Courtney in the final round and this weekend he raced against Brittany for the first time.
Having already “met” Ashley Force Hood at the drag strip in the past, the 64-year-old has competed against all of his daughters. Now that’s something to take pride in.
"I have raced all my daughters I never knew if I would get a chance to race Brittany. The pairings worked out so we could match up and they asked if we would consider running together. I wouldn't race anybody else. I want to race my own teams at a deal like this. You want to put on a show for the fans. It was great," John said after racing Brittany at the Pro Winter warm up at Palm Beach International Raceway.
