Enter Johammer J1, probably the world’s most stylish electric cruiser to date. We’ve seen a lot of truly nifty machines lately, including the stunning Voxan Wattman, but the J1 blows everything out of the water.
Definitely a matter of instant love or spontaneous hate, Johann Hammerschmid’s creation impresses with its retro radicalism, blended to perfection with the modern approach to e-bikes.

Designed, developed and produced in Austria, the Johammer J1 brings back an older paradigm in bike-making, but takes it yet another step forward. The first stunning thing about the J1 is its simple and intelligent chassis design, offering exceptional torsional rigidity, and an incredibly low center of gravity.

Cue in the “unit swingarm” design embedding the lifetime-lubricated, maintenance-free motor, and the hub steering front wheel for a more intriguing look, and low-swung array of dual horizontal shock absorbers taking care of the J1’s smooth suspensions, for an even lower mass positioning.

The Johammer J1 can be ridden with cruiser-specific ergonomic, but there’s nothing preventing you from sitting upright and enjoying a more aggressive control over your ride. Two sets of foot pegs are loaded on the J1, and together with the adjustable bars, riders can choose their fav flavor for the bike.

With no dashboard, the Johammer J1 uses the mirrors for displaying essential riding data on 2.4” screens. The 11 kW power train is fed from either an 8.3 kWh or a 12.7 kWh battery developed in –house and which provides juice for 150 to 200 km (93 – 124 miles) respectively. Top speed is limited at 120 km/h (74.5 mph), and the Johammer J1 is also equipped with LED lighting.

Johammer J1 can be yours now, as it is a series-production bike. The J1.150 comes with a €23,000 ($31,725) price tag, while the J1.200 is €25,000 ($34,485). Visit Johammer for more details.
