Joey Logano, Awarded Raybestos Rookie of Year Title

After winning the Raybestos Rookie of the Race no less than 26 times in 36 races, Joey Logano has managed to clinch the Raybestos Rookie of Year title. The 19-year old was awarded at the Rookie Media Luncheon held in Charlotte.

"It is pretty neat to win the Raybestos Rookie of the Year Award," Logano told NASCAR. "This was obviously one of our big goals for the season. I really appreciate this."

"I’ve got to thank The Home Depot for standing behind me throughout the year. We had a real rough start and finished 20th in the points. In the beginning of the season if you had told me that’s where we were going to finish I’d have been ecstatic about it but now you always want better."

Logano was joined at the ceremony by Justin Allgaier, Nationwide Series Raybestos Rookie of Year and Johnny Sauter, Camping World Truck Series Rookie of Year. Allgaier managed to win the rookie of race title 11 times this season, while Sauter managed one win, two poles, seven
top-five and 13 top-10 finishes.

"When the season started we wanted more than anything to win Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors and we knew it was going to be a tough, tall order," Allgaier added. "There were a lot of really great drivers going for it and to be a part of this Raybestos rookie group and come out on top means a lot."
