Jey Leno Checks Out 2013 SRT Viper GTS

Jay Leno is a down to earth guy, despite being one of the richest car collectors in the world. He says he likes the Dodge Viper ever since he bought his first one, a convertible, back in 1993. That one had 400 horsepower, which sounds like a trifle compared to the 640 of the new one.
The 2013 SRT Viper GTS is a thoroughly modern car, with ABS and traction control. Technology wise it also gets launch control. The new one is a car that you can spend a lot more time time, and you want to because it comes with the top-of-the-line interior.

The Viper is not only more powerful, but also lighter. The shape is more powerful and elegant. Gilles famously said that when this car came out in New York earlier this year, Chrysler got its heart back.

The car is really cool to look at - real, exposed carbon fiber under the bonnet and in the boot. There’s not a lot of cars like that.

Sadly, this is the show car used for the New York unveil, the only car there is right now, so Jay Leno can’t drive it yet.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
