It’s been a long way from his teens when he’d drive an old Ford LTD he got from his grandparents. But that was back when he was just a young aspiring drummer who wished he’d one day make it in a successful rock band. In 2012, Jeremy Spencer was named Golden God’s “Best Drummer” by Revolver Magazine and is currently part of Five Finger Death Punch, a metal band that has sold over 2.6 million albums in US.
Growing up in Indiana Spencer was always a nature guy, one who’d love to go on long road trips. Spencer claims his mom’s 1990 Chevy Beretta was the car he learned how to drive and that it took a long way to the point where he’d afford luxury rides. In fact, that is also one of the things he writes about in his autobiography, Death Punch’d - Surviving Five Finger Death Punch’s Metal Mayhem, that was published in September, last year.
The 42-year old drummer talks about his struggles to build up a music career and his fight with addictions. That’s pretty much how he managed to get along with his cars as well.
“I’ve been driving Mercedes for a few years and every time the leas is up, I just keep trading it in and upgrading, and I love this car. I think it’s great. There’s nothing about it I don’t like. It’s got every luxury that I could ever want”, the artist told Motor Trend.
Like we said earlier, it’s quite a long way from what he started off since the S-class has always been a symbol of luxury and wealth. Whether Spencer chose for the 499 horsepower 4,7-liter twin-turbo V8 unit or the 523 horsepower 6.0-liter, twin-turbo V12 model we’re sure the drummer is quite satisfied with it.
