Part one of the Top Gear Patagonia Special will air on Saturday, December 27, and that is that. Meanwhile, the Argentina conflict, which is also a “climax that wasn’t really on the cards” in the show, is still not solved. After the ambassador of the South American country to the UK blamed the team to have planned to torch their cars to make the escape more dramatic, Jeremy Clarkson has recently denied the news.
First of all, the Christmas special Top Gear show is set to kick off on Saturday December 27 at 8.30 pm, with part two showing on Sunday, 28 December at the same hour. Both will air on BBC Two and BBC Two HD. So, for those fans that have been wondering whether the Argentina license plate conflict brought any change to the show itself, now you know.

As to the local police report, which claims that footage of burn-out cars might have been used for “dramatic effect” and could have given the impression that Jeremy Clarkson and his mates had been forced to flee torched vehicles, the lead singer is obviously denying it.

“There was a small battery issue when the on board cameras were removed in a big hurry” was Clarkson’s explanation on the incident. We’re not quite sure how that works, but like most of the fans already stated, after all Top Gear has always been about goofing around and pulling up all sorts of crazy stunts.

Who knows, maybe the whole Argentina conflict will never get a proper closure, especially with tabloids keeping the spark alive and all.

Meanwhile, we’re about to see some quite interesting action. According to Top Gear, the upcoming Patagonia special will have Jeremy, Richard and James taking a Porsche 928, Lotus Esprit and Ford Mustang through their most gruelling challenge to date: a 1600-mile trek through Patagonia to the southernmost city in the world, in order to stage an epic game of car football against Argentina.
