Jeremy Clarkson's Fracas Settled in Court, Victim Got over 100,000 Pounds

Jeremy Clarkson’s now-famous fracas has been settled in court. Oisin Tymon, the victim of Clarkson’s racial discrimination and personal injury, will receive a settlement that will be “in excess of 100,000 pounds,” which is the quivalent of around $140,000.

The exact amount settled by Tymon’s lawyers has not been specified, but now we know how much it cost the former Top Gear host to act like a jerk to one of his colleagues.

If you do not recall the scandal that brought the end of Top Gear as we knew it, it all happened one evening at a hotel in North Yorkshire. Back then, Clarkson and his colleagues concluded a long day of filming, and the 55-year-old presenter became upset with Tymon after the star learned that he could not order a steak.

Apparently, the situation triggered Clarkson’s temper, and he started a tantrum that targeted Oisin Tymon. The member of the Top Gear production team was punched by the presenter of the show, who allegedly also offended Tymon’s Irish origins.

The latter was a big factor in the settlement, as racial slurs are lawsuit material in almost all civilized countries. Naturally, the assault charge did not go unnoticed, and its severity was also taken into account by the lawyers.

Jeremy Clarkson already issued another apology to the producer, the Standard informs. The former Top Gear star regrets his behavior and has specified several times that Tymon is not to blame for the behavior the 55-year-old presenter displayed that night.

We are sure some fans of the Top Gear show, or Jeremy Clarkson, in particular, would have gladly taken a punch from the celebrity, some even for free, but the racial slurs cast by him should not be acceptable for anybody.

Mr. Oisin Tymon will continue his career with BBC and Top Gear. Meanwhile, Jeremy Clarkson and his two co-presenters have joined an automotive show that will be aired on Amazon Prime. It is sad to see the most watched car show in the world go down because of this situation, but we can only hope that the upcoming programs will spark a competition between the new Top Gear team and the ex-presenters that will only benefit the fans.

In over fourteen years, he got behind the wheel of several hundred vehicles and in the offices of the most important car publications in his homeland.
