Jeremy Clarkson Blew Up His House On Purpose, Neighbors Are Upset

Along with a lengthy career in the automotive media, Jeremy Clarkson possesses a particular set of skills, acquired over a lifetime. One of them is upsetting people. It appears that Clarkson can upset people as naturally as breathing.

Over the years, Mr. Clarkson has honed this “skill” of his to the point where he can make a single phrase statement and outrage people across the world. Sometimes, he says something offensive, but he also does it through various jokes.

Less often than that, Clarkson’s actions cause outrage. The latter is the subject of this story, when Mr. Clarkson managed to upset his neighbors in the Cotswolds, a region in the United Kingdom.

At this point, you are probably wondering what could have Clarkson done near his residence in the Cotswolds. Has he punched strangers, started a fracas, or maybe he was driving too fast? No, instead of any of the above, Mr. Clarkson blew up his house on purpose.

Unlike a pyromaniac, Clarkson went through all the legal channels to obtain permission to blow up his house, and The Telegraph reports that he had been granted approval from the according authorities.

This did not improve the mood of his neighbors in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, who had been notified a day before about the plan. Their silence was interrupted as explosives were detonated at the former five-bedroom farmhouse owned by JC.

According to the neighbors of Clarkson, it took about an hour of blasting to turn the farmhouse into a pile of rubble and wood. Clarkson will build a new home there, which he has reportedly named the “Diddly Squat Farm.”

The construction plans include six bedrooms, five bathrooms, space for five cars, a cinema in the basement, and other appointments like these.

Clarkson had previously requested to tear down his house in 2013, just one year after purchasing it. However, even after receiving approval for the work, Clarkson ditched the plans for the current scenario. Expect the explosions to appear of The Grand Tour, as the show was reportedly filming in the area in the days before the event.
