Amalgam has created a wonderful replica of Jenson Button's Formula One car in the 2010 campaign, the McLaren Mercedes MP4-25. The 1:8 replica matches completely the car driven by the reigning world champion this season, and the attention to details during the construction process is simply astonishing.

While presenting the replica on their official website, Amalgam stated that it's based completely on the car that Button took to his first win of the season, in Australia. Well, as the season progressed, this particular model recorded a second 2010 win some 3 weeks later, in China.

It's true, the MP4-25 replica does cost around £2,950 (US $4,485), but that could be regarded as pocket change for the auto aficionados and collectors out there. Having approximately 16 kilograms in weight, the model features the famous F-duct air-channeling device that made the entire F1 world recalculate its aerodynamic plans for the 2010 campaign.

Additionally, the car is fitted with option tires – as provided by Bridgestone in Melbourne – and all the other aerodynamic tweaks debuted by the guys at Woking for this particular race.

When double-thinking about buying this piece of Formula One memorabilia-to-be, bear in mind the fact that Jenson Button may actually win the world championship this season on board of the real-scale model. And we don't have to tell you that the same scale model will probably cost you double the money in case that happens.

The reigning world champion is currently 2nd in the overall classification, trailing teammate Lewis Hamilton by only 6 points. Both have scored 2 wins apiece in 2010, so anything's possible for the second part of the ongoing campaign.
