The campaign is called Celebrity Custom and calls for the four to have their Wranglers modified with the help of professional customizers and Jeep Performance Parts, so that the vehicles reflect who these people are and what they stand for.

The four selected by Jeep for this series which airs on the company’s website and its Youtube channel are former Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, AfterBuzz TV founder and part-time wrestler Maria Menounos and the founders of restaurant discovery website The Infatuation.

For the task at hand, Alex Rodriguez partnered with West Coast Customs, Maria Menounos will be working with DCD Customs, while the two guys from The Infatuation will have their car tuned by AutoCraft NYC.

“Owners have long customized the Jeep Wrangler to reflect their individual personalities that enable them to seek their own unique adventures, wherever the road takes them,” says Jeep in a statement.

“Throughout the web series, the celebrities work with the customizers and Jeep Performance Parts to outfit their Jeep Wrangler and create a one-of-a-kind vehicle.”

Even if it was envisioned as a publicity stunt, the competition is as real as they get for the people taking part. At the end of it all, there will be only one winner, and not just for show.

This winner will be announced at a special reveal event in Los Angeles on September 27, following public voting will decide what car looks the greatest. And whoever of the four takes the crown, will also take home the car they built. For free.

The first of six episodes in the series was posted online on Thursday, and you can watch it below. All episodes are hosted by former basketball player Jalen Rose.
