Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty Edition On Its Way

Jeep fans and video games enthusiasts will be glad to hear what Chrysler has in mind for them, as the American manufacturer has expressed its intentions of releasing a limited edition Call of Duty-themed Jeep Wrangler. The edition will also mark the launch of the next installment in the series, Black Ops, in which the Wrangler is also featured as a ‘hero’ vehicle.

The Jeep will make various appearance throughout the first-person shooter game, which is set to be officially released on November 9, 2010.

Details are still sketchy at this point, as The Wall Street Journal reports, but you should expect a special paint job and livery, as well as a new set of wheels and the special edition badging.

Black Ops is, in fact, the seventh main installment of the Call of Duty series and is said to be set in various locations, including Vietnam, Laos, the Arctic, Russia and Cuba.

A previously released trailer of the game points to a more story-oriented action and will focus on military cover-ups during the Cold War. The game will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, and PC.

The aforementioned source also mentioned the Wrangler’s Sahara model will feature a hard-top that can match the vehicle’s body color.

The automaker also previewed a Jeep –pickup truck hybrid concept, and has also revealed the Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot will be replaced with just one vehicle in the future. However, Chrysler failed to give any details on when this will happen or any pricing information.
