There's a lot of fuss around this year's Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah, after Jeep has announced it has no less that six concept vehicles to show off with. We've already introduced you to the Grand Cherokee Trailhawk Concept a few hours ago, and now you're in for a whole bunch of wild Wranglers.
There's five of them, they're all unique and, probably most important, they've been tweaked with the help of Chrysler's famous parts and accessories arm, Mopar.
The first Wrangler for the Easter Jeep Safari, the Mopar Recon, features a gray exterior with several custom features, such as front and rear half-door and window kits, "Stinger" bumpers and prototype LED headlamps, just to name a few. Power comes from 470 HP throbbing 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission.
The lightweight Wrangler Stitch, one of the past Easter Jeep Safari concepts, has been updated for 2013 to have a power-to-weight ratio similar to that of the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, by removing the audio system, heating and air conditioning, rear seats and several body sections. The Stitch got 2013 SRT Viper seats and a custom carbon fiber hood.
The Wrangler Sand Trooper II, a follow up of the Sand Trooper that debuted at SEMA last year, sports a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 for 375 HP and 400 lb-ft of torque and gained a satin black grille, hood lock, Mopar flat fenders, LED off-road lights and headlamps, and several other features meant to enhance its exterior appearance.
The Flattop concept, which is described as "a paradox of sorts", is supposed to be an upscale Wrangler with phenomenal off-road capability, while the Slim, albeit powered by a smaller 3.6-liter V6, is conceived to offer "maximum performance that is significantly lighter in weight".
