Early last decade, Jeep, then owned by FCA (now Stellantis), decided to launch a subcompact crossover with looks inspired by the iconic Wrangler. Thus, they used the platform of the Fiat 500X to come up with the Renegade, giving it an exclusive body, and interior design.
Due to the special looks, and clever marketing, the Jeep Renegade shortly became a popular model, and a constant presence at various off-roading events in the Trailhawk configuration, even though it’s not a body-on-frame product.

Four years after assembly commenced, it was given a mid-cycle refresh, with updated front and rear ends, improved infotainment system, and a few other bits and bobs. For the 2022 model year, the Renegade was upgraded again, and now it has stepped into the spotlight once more, courtesy of the updated design, imagined by kdesignag, and shared on Instagram over the weekend.

The rendering artist’s digital proposal for the Jeep Renegade builds on the model that was unveiled for Brazil at the beginning of the year, and it has a new face, back end, and tweaked profile. The headlamps have a rectangular shape, the grille is a bit smaller than before, and the bumper is all-new, retaining that protection underneath.

Revised trim above the side skirts, new door handles, and mirror casings and bigger logos behind the front wheels were the only changes applied to the profile – well, these and the new wheels. Out back, it has a slightly bigger tailgate that protrudes more into the bumper, and taillights with different graphics.

Now, the pixel manipulator claims that this is an unofficial design proposal for the next-generation Jeep Renegade. However, since the changes are quite minor, and not that inspired, to be honest, it would actually fall into the mid-cycle refresh category. But which one do you like best, the real thing or this CGI take?
