Jeep vehicles may no longer be the traditional work horse US troops turn to on the battlefield, but the company still wants to make us of this connection, so it’s no surprise to see it in Jeep’s commercial for the Super Bowl.
The ad is built on the well-known idea of troops getting back home after the war. The clip shows members of the army returning home in various Jeep vehicles, such as a Wrangler or a Grand Cherokee.
We are presented with two minutes of footage using retro-style colors and multiple punch lines that make use of the aforementioned connection. Here’s Jeep message for us: “When our troops are home, we are more than a family. We are a nation that is whole again.”
