Car companies may sometimes appear a bit paranoid when it comes to protecting their unrevealed models, but then things like this Jeep leak happen and their secrecy suddenly becomes justified.
But if applying camouflage on test cars and screening those who enter restricted areas of a plant is easy, keeping relevant information from those inside the company can be a bit trickier. There, you have to rely on the belief that everybody's pulling in the same direction and have faith no one will misbehave.

However, the temptation to be the first to show the public a new model can get the best of some, presumably making them feel a bit like Prometheus stealing the secret of fire from the gods and sharing it with the mortals. Well, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer might not have the same impact on mankind as fire did, but it's still important news.

Somebody attending a dealer meeting decided to play the Greek Titan and published a few images of the upcoming Grand Wagoneer, Automotive News reports. In fact, the poster shows the entire Jeep range, starting with the Renegade and ending with the future luxury model. The image also shows the revamped 2018 Wrangler, confirming we have nothing to fear and its design will remain the same, but the recently revealed Compass is strangely missing.

Jeep has been refreshing its lineup lately, and the consensus is that the legendary American brand is headed in the right direction. The Renegade was well received, the Cherokee had mixed reactions but is doing OK, and the new Compass that was just revealed looks absolutely juicy.

But Jeep lacked a true flagship model as the current Grand Cherokee isn't really up to the job. Whether a brand like this actually needs an expensive range-topper is up for debate, but FCA clearly thinks it does since rumor has it a fully-loaded version could go as high as $140,000. Well, now that Jeep has ties with the Italians, it might just pull the luxury card off.

The SUV appears to be sporting a lot of chrome and a lot of LEDs. The images are the kind you would expect from a teaser, so it's still early to pass any judgment. What we can see, though, is that the Grand Wagoneer looks like a much bigger Compass, which is about the best compliment it could possibly hope for.

Speaking of sizes, if that poster is to scale, then the Grand Wagoneer will be nothing short of huge, dwarfing any other Jeep model currently in the range. It's got that seven-slots radiator grille, but the theme will also be carried over into the number of LEDs that make up the daytime running lights, as well as the taillights.

The Grand Wagoneer is still some time away from an official reveal since it's expected to make a full debut in 2018 as a 2019 model year. Still, with so many pieces of the puzzle missing, there's plenty more to find out during all this time. You can view the images at this link.
