The UK market has a lot of high-horsepower SUVs. In fact, we've featured sufficient drag races over the past month to prove that. But there's something none of those exotic German or Italian models has, and that's a Hellcat engine, and that's where the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk comes in.
We have to admit that we were a little surprised by the announcement. Maybe people need to think their drag race options for 2019 because a HEMI in Britain will certainly stand out. Unfortunately, they will need to be well connected because after the Trackhawk goes on sale, only 20 are expected to be delivered this year.

The price is kind of steep too £89,999 OTR. Still, jeep points out that this is the highest performance 4x4 you can buy for that kind of money, with a performance cost of £127, compared to £296 for the Bentley Bentayga and £257 for the Lamborghini Urus. You have to hand it to them for putting a fresh spin on the car.

“There won’t be many of these incredible Grand Cherokee Tlackhawks available in the UK so, just like the car, customers are going to have to be quick,” says Andrew Tracey, Marketing Director, Jeep UK. “The Trackhawk delivers astounding performance, through renowned SRT engineering. Combining world-class on-road driving dynamics with luxury, refinement and an array of innovative advanced technology, it is surely the best value high-performance SUV on the road.”

The specs have been subtly revised as well. Using UK fuel, the supercharged V8 now makes 710hp (522kW) at 6,000rpm and 868Nm of torque. It will reach 62 mph in 3.7 seconds and go back to 0 in a matter of 37 miles thanks to its Brembo big brake pack hiding behind 20-inch alloy wheels.

As you can guess from the "Victoria" license plates you see in the photos, the Trackhawk has already been configured for RHD, unlike some of its muscular import brothers. The standard interior for the UK features Laguna leather seats, real metal accents, Active Noise Cancellation, leather stitched instrument panel, doors, center console and armrest, Berber floormats with Trackhawk badge and 825 watt Harman Kardon sound system with 19 speakers including subwoofers.
