Two special edition Cherokees, a posh Wrangler and a unique interpretation of the all-new 2015 Renegade are the weapons of choice the Jeep brand selected to unveil at the 13th Beijing International Auto Show.
The quartet takes production models and injects them with fresh elements inspired by millennia of Chinese culture and the sense of style, fashion and flash-forward trends found in megacities such as Shanghai and Beijing.

Let's start with the Cherokee Sageland Concept, shall we? Inspired by the historical landmarks and natural sceneries of the mystical Shangri-La Region, the Jeep Cherokee Sageland design concept features a rich Ivory tri-coat Pearl exterior paint job with bronze grille collars and various fascia appliques. The roof rack, door mirror caps and exhaust tips painted in Satin Bronze chrome further enhance the exterior looks of the vehicle.

The cabin is dominated by an earth-tone color palette featuring a combination of grey Nappa leather seats with red and water blue contrasting stitches. As for the pattern on the door appliques, Jeep says it is derived from the color and finish of Chinese ornamental door knobs.

Coupling the night life of a modern megacity with glamour and elegance, the Jeep Cherokee Urbane Design Concept features a Maximum Steel metallic exterior with Hyper Black accents on the roof rack, door mirror caps, grille collars, front and rear fascias, wheel finishings, vehicle badging and antenna.

Step inside and you'll be greeted by a predominantly Piano Black cabin. Chinese calligraphy is the main inspiration of the bold decorative door appliques, while the floor mats feature a unique pattern inspired by traditional Chinese windows. The seats are wrapped in dark red Nappa leather with bright red accent stitching.

Moving on to the Jeep Wrangler Sundancer Concept, the design team wanted to combine the legendary off-road capability of the Wrangler with a touch of sophistication and a sense of fashion.

Featuring a tri-coat Chocolate Brown metallic paint job with gold accents, the Sundancer's exterior look is complemented by Golden Bronze tone-on-tone ghosted pattern fender flares and bronze tinted glass, as well as linear LED lights in the front and rear bumpers and 20-inch pale gold billet aluminum wheels.

Exclusive Berry Baltique Semi-Aniline perforated leather wraps the Axis II seats. Premium leather and hand sewn lace stitching can be found on the door panels, outer deck seam, steering wheel and center lid console. The gold color scheme from the exterior continues into the interior with the ‘Gold Rush’ interior paint on the door handles, steering wheel bezel, grab handle, gear shifter trim ring bezels and sill plates.

Without a doubt, the most interesting Jeep product unveiled at Auto China 2014 is the 2015 Renegade-based Jeep Zi You Xia Design Concept. Zi You Xia, which means “rebel”, highlights a more sophisticated aspect of the Renegade’s personality.

Inspired by the colors of the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, the concept is finished in a Warm Chocolate Gray with a contrasting Dark Anodized Bronze color accentuating the grille throats, front fog lamp bezels, rear lower fascia, skidplate, tail lamp insert bezel and badging. Unique 20-inch Dark Anodized Bronze alloy wheels also contribute to the exterior visual flair.

The interior boasts an energetic ambience with rugged and functional details crafted in high quality materials. The Piano Black color is accompanied by grey A-pillars and headliner. The air vents, speaker bezel, gear shifter, steering wheel bezels, cup holder and door release handles are finished in an Anodized Copper, reflecting the metallic color common in sports equipment. The seats and door panels feature rich brown leather upholstery with "ombre" grey/black plaid fabric inserts,.

“Jeep is one of the fastest growing imported brands in China and this is our largest Jeep market outside the U.S.,” said Mike Manley, Chief Operating Officer for Asia Pacific and President and CEO of the Jeep brand. “It makes sense for us to use this year’s Beijing Motor Show as a platform to explore how consumers react to these new Chinese-inspired ideas that may find their way into future production vehicles.”
