The one-millionth Jeep Wrangler JK model rolled off the assembly line at Chrysler Group’s Toledo plant in Ohio, the American company announced last week.
The event was celebrated by Chrysler executives, plant employees, UAW representatives and supplier partners that gathered at the end of the line. The one-millionth vehicle, a black 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary Edition, was driven off the line by Mauro Pino, Chrysler’s vice president of vehicle assembly operations, and Dan Henneman, Jeep chairman of UAW Local 12.
“Every Jeep Wrangler sold to customers around the world is born in Toledo, Ohio,” said Mauro Pino. “Since this facility opened eight years ago, the Toledo workforce has built every one of those million vehicles with pride, passion and a focus on quality. We all look forward to building the next million.”
Introduced in 2007, the current generation Wrangler JK was completely redesigned and it’s offered in four body styles: two-door convertible, two-door SUV, four-door convertible, and four-door SUV. The JK gained a facelift in 2010.
The Jeep Wrangler is being built since 1986.
