We have a little confession to make. There's an old SEAT Leon with a JE Design body kit close to the autoevolution office and it looks horrible. Most of their other projects are also awful, but the ones based on the 2013+ Leon aren't that bad.
All our hopes that JE has begun making cool things were dashed when they unveil this. In Volkswagen lingo, we call this a Touareg 7P R-Line. However, in tuning terms, we call this a pig.

JE has stubbornly tried to make the biggest SUV Volkswagen makes appear sporty. However, the Toureg is an old car and all it can ever pull is "classy". It doesn't work the same way as something like a Porsche Macan or a Range Rover Evoque.

That said, there's nothing wrong with the stuff under the hood. The 3.0 TDI engine that every unit sold in Europe currently comes with has been boosted to 285 hp and 650 Nm of torque. With this, the legendary Wolfsburg vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. The price of the performance upgrade is €1,650 and it's covered by a 2-year warranty. For an extra 595 Euro, you can add stainless steel twin tailpipes.

Moving on to the individualization program, we need to point out that this isn't the first time the Touareg has been tuned by JE design, as we've tracked a pre-facelift project all the way back to 2010.

Some of the elements of the kit are the same. However, they went wild with a wide-body look using fender flares that remind us of the old Q7. The old-school touch can also be seen on the two-tone wheels and the side skirts.

It's worth noting that the factory-fitted extendable trailer hitch can still be used despite the diffuser, just like with the regular Touareg R-Line. The price of the body parts is a whopping €4,760. All components can also be ordered individually so that you can have the Tiguan without the wide-body look.

But wait, there's more, the stance issue, to be more precise. A spacer kit costing €410 adds 60mm to the front and 80mm to the rear wheels. It's accompanied by 22-inch wheels with 295/30/R22 tires costing €2,990. Finally we see that an electronic lowering module has been installed, and it adds another €1,428.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
