JE Design Scirocco...

...and we don't mean that in French. German tuner JE Design joined the ranks of... just about every other tuner out there and came up with their own version of the Scirocco. And their version is green...

After seeing countless versions of the Scirocco, we are somewhat immune and don't get easily worked up about every single Scirocco which comes out some tuner's garage. Still, we will give you the specs of JE's version, link the countless others below this piece and let you decide by yourself.

Thanks to an additional control unit, JE brought the power of the engine up by 25 percent, increase hp output from 140 to 180. Maximum torque also increased from 320 to 400 Nm at 1,750 to 2,500 rpm respectively. As a consequence, the top speed of the Scirocco now stands at 213 km/h (up from 207), with naught to sixty acceleration in 8.4 seconds.

For the 2.0 TDI CR Scirocco, JE offers a pack which brings power levels in between 170 hp and 205 hp. By using the latter of the enhancements, the Scirocco has a top speed of 229 km/h, 7 km/h more that in the series version. The performance pack can be purchased for 1,249 euros (180 hp) and 1,449 euros (205 hp) including VAT and a 12-month warranty.

The body kit (919 euro, VAT included), includes a front spoiler with a center sword in carbon look, side skirts with air inlets and rear skirt attachments. For an extra 899, JE throws in a stainless steel muffler with two central oval end pipes. The lowering springs (299 euros) bring the car down by 30 mm.

The wheels (8x19) come in shadow silver (2,810 euro) or graphite matt with polished edges (2,930 euros), both fitted with 235/35 R 19 tires. Not to forget the 1,549 euro gull-wing doors kit...
