Here’s a Japanese car that is built there but is only now being revealed for the local market, about six full month from the initial reveal in North America. It’s the new 2012 Subaru Impreza called the G4 in its sedan form and Sport when it has five doors and a stubby back end.
Carscoop came into possession of these first brochure images of the JDM 2012 Impreza. The official reveal of the car was supposed to take place on November 30th, but it looks like the Japanese touch to the Impreza was not a closely guarded secret.
In addition to the new 2.0-liter boxer that debuted with the car and offers 150 hp in the Japanese market, the Impreza is also offered with a smaller 1.6-liter, which according to the brochure has 115 hp. This should be available with both a five-speed manual transmission or Subaru's Lineartronic CVT.
