Anyway, back to the SUV at hand. Somewhere on the grounds of the Las Vegas Convention Center there’s a restored 1968 Bronco. It is the same car parked by TV host Craig Ferguson in Leno’s spot on the eve of his last taping. Only, different.
In the years that have passed since his retirement, Leno, with the help of Ford itself, managed to bring the old Bronco back to life, mostly thanks to a heart transplant. You see, this Bronco here is powered by a brand new Mustang Shelby GT500 engine, crammed in there by Kincer Chassis.
“Bronco was an iconic vehicle that was many things to many people,” said Leno, justifying the need for the transplant.
“The Bronco was bought to use on the farm or to take your date to the prom and was comfortable in any of these environments. The idea of having a classic Bronco upgraded with modern handling, performance and braking really makes it the best of both worlds.”
In case you miss the car at SEMA, you can read all about it in the press release section below. Also, Leno himself has a thing or two to say about it, and he will do so on his YouTube channel sometime soon.
