Jay Leno Tests SWAT Armored Vehicle

If ever you find there’s a Lenco BearCat in your driveway, you’re probably in a lot of trouble. Most likely, you’re going to attempt to flush something down the toilet, but no matter what you do, you’re going to be looking at big boots from ground level.

That’s because the Lenco BearCat is built for the Los Angeles Police Department’s SWAT force. These things are also used by the army, so it means business.

The chassis comes from a class 5 Ford pickup, the F-550, and the engine is a 6.7-liter twin-turbo diesel making about 450 hp. This armored machine will not stop an anti-tank round but any small arms fire will be no problem. Amazingly, the 4+ ton vehicle does 70 miles per hour.

Rescue 4 here is also kitted out with oxygen an medical equipment that paramedics would need for use in the field.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
