Jay Leno Tests Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport

Jay Leno has a large collection of vintage cars, old bikes, modern supecars and some of the rarest vehicles know to man, so he’s the perfect man to take a look at a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. We know he’s not a racing driver or a drift champion, but despite having more horsepower than a tank, the hypercar is very focused on the kind of luxury that only folks who go to Pebble Beach would understand.

Leno brought over the Grand Sport to his garage as well, the convertible with looks that appeal mainly to Arab millionaires living in London. But the main focus is that 1,200 horsepower monster. John Hill, the Marketing Director for Bugatti in North America is also brought over to show Leno the key aspects for $5 million worth of luxury and speed.

Like we mentioned earlier, Leno is just the man to understand just how cool the carbon fiber body on the Super Sport is. Bugatti can only paint over in dark colors, and this particular model is blue and has a clear-coat over it. We must admit that these cars look absolutely stunning and seem to bend the limits of design, elegance, refinement and performance even further that the standard Veyron pushed when it was first released.

The machine features the usual powerplant of Bugatti, the 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine that for this particular model develops 1,200 hp (882kW) and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque. The car can reach an electronically limited top speed of 258 mph (415km/h). On the other hand, the Grand Sport features the same 8.0-litre quad-turbo W16 engine, this time capable of developing 1001 hp (746kW). The car’s top speed is limited to 253 mph (407 km/h), or 224 mph (360 km/h) with the roof open.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
