You heard of Jay Leno’s Garage by now, right? It’s the famous late-night show host’s Youtube channel where he uploads various videos of all sorts of crazy or rare cars that make it to his garage, that is already filled with all kinds of automotive art.
His latest endeavor was taking on a twin-engine MINI Cooper. That’s right, a twin-engine car. It’s exactly what it sounds like, a Hatch that has a Cooper S engine on the front axle and one on the rear one.

According to its creator, Jacques Andres, the rear suspension was also replaced with one coming from the front axle of a Cooper S, to make sure it can handle the engine. On top of that, looking over the numbers a Cooper S posts and what this car claims has at the wheels, you’ll notice that 368 HP weren’t enough.

He took the 1.6-liter engines up to 250 HP each. Therefore, the car now has something around 500 HP and 4-wheel-drive, something you rarely see on MINIs. The best thing about all of it, is that it only cost him around USD30,000 so far, a decent amount, since the whole project is on a budget.

There’s a lot more interesting info in the video a couple of shots of Jay driving the beast on a closed road, as it’s not really road legal. These are 11 well-spent minutes. Enjoy!
