Jay Leno matches the Pebble Beach concours down to a T, and he never misses any chances to drive the coolest cars there. At this year's edition, he seems to have gotten behind the wheel of a 2013 Chevrolet C7 Corvette Stingray Convertible.
Leno is one of the first to drive it, but that's not surprising because he's actually good fiends with Edward T. Welburn, GM's vice president of global design. He was in charge of the exterior of the car, but has also put his name to a bunch of Cadillacs you probably love.
Our friend BrianZuk was a Pebble Beach, where he filmed this video. And what do you know, Ed Welburn and Jay Leno in the same car. Surprise, surprise!
Just like with the C6, Chevrolet revealed the C7 Convertible at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. It has the same 450 hp engine under the hood and it's probably even sexier because of the million miles of headroom.
"The convertible has been a part of the heart and soul of Corvette since the very beginning in 1953," said Ed Welburn, GM vice president of global design. "With the all-new Corvette Stingray, we designed and developed the coupe and convertible simultaneously. As a result, the Corvette Stingray offers an open-top driving experience with no compromise in performance, technology or design."
