Jay Leno Meets Morgan Aero SuperSports

As you know by now, in 2009 Morgan Motor Company celebrated its 100th anniversary with the launch of the special version of the Aero SuperSports, "a "truly special model" as it was called by its creator.

At the time, all we had to go on were the details provided by the builder and a few sets of photos. That was the case until Charles Morgan, the company's head, took the SuperSports to Jay Leno's Garage for a drive, a test and a review.

What came out from this "utterly modern driving experience that honors the quality and tradition of Britain's last independently owned car manufacturer" can be seen in the video below.

The SuperSports is the follower of the AeroMax coupe built in 2008 and 2009, using the platform of the Morgan Aero Eight GT3 chassis. Under the hood, the Morgan Aero SuperSports uses an aluminum-block 4.8l V8 engine, sourced from BMW and mated to either a six-speed automatic or six manual transmissions.

The new Morgan creation was designed by Matthew Humphries and was engineered for production by the Morgan design team. The Aero SuperSports will enter production sometimes in 2010, but as often is the case with limited edition vehicles, buyers already have the means to place orders for the car.

The estimated price tag for the SuperSports is £127,000, VAT included.
