Jay Leno Has a Closer Look at the 2015 Ford Mustang

Unveiled earlier this month, the 2015 Ford Mustang won’t reach dealerships until late 2014, which means most people will have to wait for more than six months to get some private time with the redesigned pony.

But not Jay Leno, who gets to drive almost any performance car even before the automaker hands them out to the press for preliminary testing. He even gets to buy them before many high-ranking customers.

As expected, the highly anticipated 2015 Mustang is the most recent vehicle to arrive at his garage, along with the Mustang 1 concept and two of Ford’s most important people, Lee Iacocca, the designer of the first-gen pony, and Dave Pericak, chief engineer of the latest iteration of the car.

Interestingly enough, Leno doesn’t get to drive the red 2015 Mustang GT prototype, but he gets to check it out in detail, with Pericak by his side. Iacocca’s presence in Leno’s garage makes the 25-minute footage a real delight, with a lot of facts about the early days of the Mustang are remembered. Scroll below to watch the video.
