America recognizes that since people pay for the roads and such, they have the right to drive whatever they want on them. So unlike the new Pagani that’s not street legal because it hasn’t got airbags, this Local Motors Rally Fighter is street legal because you build it yourself at their factory.

The Rally Fighter is a concept vehicle that was co-created by a bunch of enthusiasts gathered in an online community. The chassis and body are unique, but the drivetrain comes from GM: a 6.2-liter small block V8 pushing 430 horsepower and a four-speed automatic transmission, both covered by a GM Performance Parts warranty.

The suspension if Fox and provides 18 inches of travel in the front and 20 in the back. In the brakes department, the Rally Fighter has disks at every corner 13.9-inch discs with two pistons at the front and one at the back.

Local Motors has already built 50 cars and have already managed to register their Rally Fighter, which means they should be legal everywhere.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
